Michael Joseph Jackson
Whats in a name, well in Michael's case, it's honor. only by honoring the past we can understand the preasent, that will bring us into the future. One of the ways Michael Jackson honored his past, was by merging the past with the present to give his family a future. To undersand it all, we go back into Michael's Family Tree.
Prince was the son of Mary Etta and Prince Screws.
Prince Screws The First, was an Alabama cotton-plantation slave who became a tenant farmer after the Civil War, likely on his old master's land. His son, Prince Screws Jr., Married Julia belle Jordan in 1897, and became parents to Katie, Hattie, willie Ann, Rrichard and Prince Albert. Prince jr. worked hard and bought a small farm. And that man's son, Prince Screws III, left home for Indiana, where he found work as a Pullman porter, part of the exodus of southern blacks to the northern industrial cities.
There came a disruption in the line. This last Prince Screws, the one who went north, would have no sons. He had two daughters, Kattie and Hattie Scruse. ( surname change) Kattie gave birth to ten children, one still born, the eighth a boy, named Michael—who would name his sons Prince, to honor his past, but let me not get to far ahead.
Born in Barbour County alabamas Kattie B. Screws was the daughter of Martha Upshaw and Prince Albert Screws (born October 16, 1907 – died January 21, 1997). Katherine's father later changed his surname to "Scruse", and her name was changed to Katherine Esther Scruse when she was four years old. Her family moved to Gary, Indiana when she was 4 years old. There she met Joseph Jackson, whom she married in 1949
Born in Fountain Hill, Arkansas Joseph Jackson the eldest of six to Samuel Jackson and Crystal Lee King. His parents separated when he was 12. He moved with his father to Oakland, california where he lived until after turning 18 when he moved to East Chicago, Indiana, to live near his mother. While there, he met Katherine Scruse. They married on November 5, 1949. Settling in Gary Indian, Joseph, a former boxer, worked full-time as a crane operator at Gary's U.S. Steel cCompany, while Katherine tended to their children. In the mid-1950s, Joseph started a music career with his brother Luther, playing guitar in a band called The Ford Falcons. As more kids came the group split up a couple of years later after failing to get a recording deal. Joseph returned full time to his job at U.S. Steel.

The Dating Game
Here a 14 year old Michael guest stars on a celebrity edition of The Dating Game were he vies for a date with one of these three adorable girls. The girls are adorable and seem just as shy as Michael.
Not old enough to remember The Dating Game? It was a 70's veersion of the Bachelor, the premise, to interview 3 perspective dates with out seeing there faces, but by geting to know if there is comon interest with a series of questions. Either a bachelor or bachelorette would chose one of the three contestants – not based on their looks – but based on their voice and how they answered questions. After selecting their winner, who they would later go on a date with, later on. but the first would meet the two other contestants that they did not chose. Sometimes the bachelor or bachelorette wouldn’t be too happy with their choice after seeing the two they let go. That was the beauty of the show.
So little Michael asks his ladies questions like, “I’ve never been out on a date before, what do two kids like us do on a date?” and “If I bring my pet snake, ‘Rosie the Crusher’ along on our first date, what would you bring along, and why?” The girls are quite saucey, and giving out inuendos they most likely learned form the grown ups. but lets face it MJ at 14 is still quite charming, he has that certain "Je ne sais quoi"
